| Narrative |
 |
| Originally from Ecuador, conguero Jorge Jimenez came to New York at age twenty and started performing with local groups seven years later.
During his twenty-four years in New York he has performed in the area with numerous musicians and groups such as Charlie Palmieri (brother to famed Latin pianist and composer Eddie Palmieri), Raulin Rosendo, Facinacion, Orchestra Broadway, and Fania Allstars such as Johnny Pacheco, Pete el Conde Rodriguez, and Junior Gonzalez.
In January 1995, a mutual love of the music and sounds of Cal Tjader led Jorge to the group's music director noted vibraphonist and composer Mike Freeman who writes the arrangements/transcriptions as well as performs in the group.
Jorge's collaboration with Mike produces an exciting and authentic group that features vibes, piano, bass, conga, timbal, and bongos for Latin jazz, adding one to three singers for salsa arrangements.
Currently Jorge Jimenez
is leading a two trombone
band ( Sabor a Conga) which can be seen and heard in around
New York City. Prefrebly at Club Gonzalez & Gonzalez
