| Second Opinion started between two high school choir-mates in Austin, Texas. What began as a fun music project of cover songs between Kat and Trev as seniors soon became the realization of Second Opinion’s unique concept. Second Opinion is an irresistible blend of Trev’s pop and dance background and Kat’s soul and R&B background. Second Opinion’s music is as diverse a mix as its members, although Trev and Kat are more than a gimmick. Many have attempted to blend such distinct genres and are often left with watered down results. “We have a patent pending,” Trev jokes.
Second Opinion’s debut professional project is their three-song demo. The first song on their demo is “Brevity,” a mix of pop and dance music, laden with elements of house and trance. It reminds us that any great love is measured by its intensity, not necessarily its longevity. The second song is the upbeat pop and R&B ballad, “In Class,” conveying the heartache of constantly confronting an ex. The last song, which further illustrates Second Opinion’s wide spectrum of music, is “Back And Forth.” “Back And Forth” is a hip-hop song perfect for the club with smooth R&B undertones.
Second Opinion’s musical pursuits do not end there. In the future, they hope to continue testing and blending the borders of many musical genres. Second Opinion has only just begun. |
